1834 N-7 R7 PCGS graded PR04 (a Proof-Only Variety)
Glossy medium steel brown and light chocolate. The surfaces are smooth and the only defects are 10 tiny punch marks on the reverse, mostly inside the wreath. Basically just a well-worn cent with nice color and eye appeal. The date is complete and easily readable but not strong. Only 8 examples of this proof-only variety have been confirmed and one more is claimed but is unverified. Several of these saw extensive circulation. This is the undisputed key to a complete variety set of the cents of 1816-1839 and it is seldom available via auction or private sale. A great opportunity to fill that toughest hole without spending "sports car money" for an unworn proof. Our grade is G4 (actually G4+ obverse, G4- reverse). The attribution is noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.
