1834 N-5 R5 PCGS graded MS65BN.
1834 N-5 R5 PCGS graded MS65BN. PCGS graded MS-65 Brown. Large 8, Large Stars, Medium Letters. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with steel brown toning on the highest points of the design. Frosty mint luster shows through in the fields and protected areas. No spots or stains. The only marks are a few short hairline scratches in the field close to the browlock, a disjointed dull scratch left of star 13, a dull nick in the center of the eyebrow, and a couple barely visible hairlines at RIC. Excellent eye appeal in spite of the minor marks. EDS. The obverse fields are smooth thanks to a fresh die lapping following its use during the earlier N-6 marriage. Called MS60 and CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS60 but tied for CC#2, his photo #21303. Our grade is MS60. A wonderful example of this single die variety "Redbook" type. PCGS Population 1; none finer. Estimated Value $7,500-UP. Ex David Bland, Jr. 4/76-Del Bland-Larry Whitlow 5/76-Myles Z . Gerson 3/7/77. Our item number 137333 "
