1834 N-1 R1 PCGS graded MS65RB.
1834 N-1 R1 PCGS graded MS65RB. PCGS graded MS-65 Red & Brown. Small 8, Large Stars, Medium Letters. Lustrous mint red mellowing to light steel brown, at least half the red remaining, mostly on the obverse. Only a few trivial marks, including a tiny swipe of darker toning in the field right of star 4 and a pair of tiny planchet impurity marks under the wreath, as struck. A solid gem cent with outstanding eye appeal. Late die state. The repunching inside the C in AMERICA is faint, nearly gone, and there are tiny rim cud breaks over STA. The reverse is rotated 15 degrees CW. This cent has not been seen by Noyes or Bland. Our grade is MS65. PCGS Population 1; 1 finer in 66RB. Estimated Value $200-UP. Ex Commodore Matthew C. Perry (with his collection envelope where he has written "Rare, so perfect"), Bowers & Merena 1/5/95:593-Tony Terranova. Our item number 137326 "
