1834 H10C MS65 PCGS. V-5, LM-1, R.2. Most easily attributed by the 3 in the date being punched over an inverted 3. This is the earliest die state we have seen. None of the filling that is often seen within the lower loop of the 8 shows on this piece. Also, the die lines between the scroll and the eagle's left (facing) wing are sharp (they are polished away on later die states). Apparently high grade examples are occasionally available of this variety. We offered an MS67 in our 1995 ANA Sale, and another in our 1999 ANA Sale. This is a splendid, highly lustrous example that is covered with emerald-green toning an just a hint of rose around the margins. Sharply defined also. Population: 19 in 65, 25 finer (1/03). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
