1833 N-2 R2 PCGS graded MS65 BrownLustrous steel brown and light chocolate with subtle overtones of light bluish steel in the fields. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has very nice eye appeal. A faint arc of darker toning from the eye to star 1 plus a few additional wisps of similar toning on both sides are the only notable marks. Sharply struck E-MDS, die state a, with clear repunching on ONE CENT, strongest over the O and below the T. The reverse is rotated 30 degrees CW. This is the plate coin for the die variety in John Wright's 1992 reference The Cent Book 1816-1839. Called MS60+ and tied for CC#6 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS60 and tied for CC#5, his photo #21612. Our grade is MS62.Certificate Number: 37021.65/13092995Pedigree: Ex Frank A. Sternberg, M. H.
