1833 N-2 R2 PCGS graded MS65 BrownLustrous steel brown and light chocolate with subtle overtones of light bluish steel in the fields. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has very nice eye appeal. A faint arc of darker toning from the eye to star 1 plus a few additional wisps of similar toning on both sides are the only notable marks. Sharply struck E-MDS, die state a, with clear repunching on ONE CENT, strongest over the O and below the T. The reverse is rotated 30 degrees CW. This is the plate coin for the die variety in John Wright's 1992 reference The Cent Book 1816-1839. Called MS60+ and tied for CC#6 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS60 and tied for CC#5, his photo #21612. Our grade is MS62.Certificate Number: 37021.65/13092995Pedigree: Ex Frank A. Sternberg, M. H. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-attributed.
7. Mail bids, or phone bids will be accepted up through the day of the sale. Please direct email bids to friscomint@live.com. All bids will be reduced. Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder. Bidding will proceed as competition dictates with the lot either selling to the floor or to the mail/web bidder at one increment above the second highest bid. Please see contact information below.
8. Consignors may bid or place a reserve bid on their own coins. Principals of the auction firm may consign and may bid on coins in the sale for themselves or clients.
