1833 H10C MS66 PCGS. V-7, LM-1, R.3. This is a scarce die marriage of the 1833 Half Dime. Most known examples grade no finer than XF, and, while writing the 1998 book Federal Half Dimes: 1792-1837, Logan and McCloskey apparently felt that the MS63 example that sold as lot 280 in the ANA Centennial Sale (Bowers and Merena, 8/91) was worthy of special mention. The present Gem, of course, is significantly finer, and the surfaces are devoid of even the most trivial blemish. Delicate golden iridescence drifts over sharply struck and richly frosted features. We last offered a similarly graded example of V-7 as lot 7183 in our May 2000 Central States Signature Sale. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
