1833 50C MS65 PCGS.
1833 50C MS65 PCGS. O-102, R.1. A richly toned Gem, with full luster and mottled, multicolored patina blanketing each side. Burnt-orange, sea-green, and charcoal-brown colors swirl over each side, and flashes of yellow-gold are also prominent. Sharply struck on the stars, hair tresses, and plumage, with only trivial softness of detail within the horizontal shield lines. A die defect line, not mentioned by Overton, is visible to the naked eye from the base of the 0 in 50, angling left to the border. A small obverse reeding mark has left four contiguous dots directly above the second 3 in the date. An impressive and carefully preserved Bust Half. Encapsulated in an older green label PCGS holder. Population: 9 in 65, 3 finer (10/03). Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
