<B>1833 10C MS64 NGC.</B></I> JR-9, R.2. This variety is most easily attributable by star 13 which is close and presents two points to the curl, and TED in UNITED that is successively higher on the reverse. While fairly common in lower grades, the JR-9 is an important condition rarity at the MS64 grade level. In the JR reference, published in 1984, the finest example known at that time was an AU55. Sharply defined around the peripheries, a few of the devices display just a bit of striking weakness. The surfaces are obviously original with light gray patina over most of each side and a wispy brownish toning streak, barely distinguishable without magnification, that traverses an area from the upper portion of the eagle's shield diagonally down to the lower right (facing) wingtip.
