1833<10C> JR-1, R.3. Reiver state b. MS61 NGC. A large retained cud on the reverse through D STATE. A lovely lustrous specimen that has faint gold toning around the periphery. Well struck by the dies, although the uppermost curls show the expected softness for the grade, but the stars and eagle's feathers are bold. Identifiable by a low area on the third star which has the appearance of a tiny lamination. Minor hairlines and the luster is a touch weak in the fields.
This coin is truly a great collector coin. The die state is quite advanced and clearly few were coined after the present example left the dies. Of the handful of specimens of this variety that show retained cuds, most are the present die state with the left side of the cud showing the weakest definition and the right side shows less difference in elevation between the die sections and sharper definition. An impressive and exciting coin for the specialist.
No pedigree information included. Envelope Included.
