Sharpness VF20 but covered with fine roughness, strongest on the right side of the reverse where there is some shallow reddish corrosion and verdigris. A rim dent at star 4 and another over UN are the only additional significant marks. Slightly glossy dark steel and olive brown. Double struck. The first strike was properly centered but the planchet failed to eject completely before another planchet was inserted and the dies struck again. The obverse was struck this second time against the new blank planchet leaving an impression of that planchet 50% off center on the right side. The reverse was struck by the reverse die a second time about 50% off center as well, with the C of CENT from the second strike overprinting the E in ONE from the first strike. Other details from the second strike are visible as well. EDS with a double profile from the forehead down to the chin.
