1832 50C Small Letters MS65 NGC. O-119, Low R.4. This Gem Mint State piece is undoubtedly in the Condition Census of the variety, and may be one of the two finest known examples. The fourth edition of Overton, by Donald Parsley, records the finest known to him as MS67, and the second finest just MS60. Stephen J. Herrman does not indicate any recent auction appearances above MS63.
We are certain that this Gem has been off the market for many years, and is probably not known to the current generation of collectors. It is a lovely olive-gold example with pale rose and light blue peripheral iridescence.

Coin Engraver: John Reich

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
