1832<25C> MS64 PCGS. B-2, R.2. An assertively struck and fully lustrous example, light golden-brown in color aside from a blush of rose toning near the left (facing) wing. A short and faint vertical mark near the mouth, nonetheless quite close to full Gem. Only two die marriages were dated 1832. The present near-Gem represents the Small Arrows variety. Its high grade and early reverse die state allows the viewer to study the extensive repunching of the peripheral reverse legend, apparently initially partially set with smaller letters, located too distant from the rim.
Ex: Isaac Edmunds Collection (Bowers and Merena, 6/02), lot 474, which realized $6,900.
