1831 N-8 R3 MS62
1831 N-8 R3 MS62. Lustrous light greenish olive brown and chocolate with traces of faded mint red in protected areas on both sides. Sharply struck and very attractive. Satiny mint frost covers the fields and protected areas. The only notable defects are three tiny specks of carbon: one on the bottom edge of the truncation above the 8, another on the upper left edge of the hair bun, and a third close under star 5. MDS with a fine but clear die crack through the tops of TED-ST. Called MS60+ and tied for CC#2 in the Bland census. Noyes photo #36861. And it comes with a nice provenance.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
