1831 25C Small Letters MS66 NGC. B-4, R.1. This is a highly lustrous and fully brilliant silver example of the Capped Bust quarter dollar design. Both sides exhibit faint champagne toning over pleasing satin luster. The strike is sharp and the fields have faint reflectivity. A faint die crack from the border to stem, through the C in 25 C, is the only die state indicator found on either side of this piece. This is Die State III in Walter Breen's revision of the Browning reference, apparently the most common die state of this variety. This specimen is tied for the finest certified by NGC or PCGS, and it is undoubtedly the finest known example of the die marriage. Census: 6 in 66, 0 finer (2/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
