Glossy medium brown and chocolate with lighter brown toning in protected areas. The surfaces are smooth and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. Just a few trivial marks including a tiny nick near the hair under star 8 that may help identify this cent. MDS with the usual die crack from the tip of the bust to the dentils below star 1. The strike is a bit soft, as always on this variety, because it was struck using heavily worn dies from earlier marriages. Comes with a nice provenance. Removed from a PCGS holder graded VF30 (PCGS label # 36952.30/32848390 included, and it shows the attribution and Twin Leaf Collection provenance). Ex James L. Corrado 12/1985-March Wells, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Superior 2/7/2000:1930-W. M. "Jack" Wadlington (The Twin Leaf Collection), Stack's Bowers 3/30/2016:10112-Norman Thomas Collection, Goldbergs 6/1/2020:46 (includes the last lot ticket)
