1830 N-11 R5 Large Letters VF35Five points sharper but lightly cleaned and beautifully retoned frosty light brown and tan with steel brown on the highpoints and underlying golden tan in protected areas. A splash of darker steel brown toning shows at the dentils from the 18 to star 2 and another at TES-OF. Smooth and quite attractive, void of any notable contact marks. The die clashmarks on the reverse are strong. MDS, the usual die state for the variety with both dies well worn from use in earlier marriages, especially the reverse. Called EF45 in the Noyes condition census and finest known by a full 10 points, his photo #28502. Bland says AU50 and CC#1 by 15 points in his census. Either way, this is clearly the finest known example of a very rare cent. Plated in the John Wright reference to illustrate the variety. A great example of this rare die variety.Certificate Number: Pedigree: Ex Ray Phillip (Cleveland, Ohio) 7/1982-John D. Wright 1/18/2006-J. R. "Bob" Grellman, Jr. & Chris McCawley 4/3/2006-Daniel W.
