<B>1830<H10C> MS67 PCGS.</B></I> V-3, LM-4.1, R-2. A slender die crack through the first star helps identify the variety. Beautiful golden-brown and splashes of aqua-blue colors endow this lustrous Superb Gem. Boldly struck aside from a hint of weakness on the feathers southwest of the shield, an area which had the unfortunate location of being opposite Liberty's bust. With such thin planchets there was only so much silver to be squeezed into the recesses of the dies, and often the eagle's thigh and tail show varying degrees of weakness. Thankfully for collectors, Liberty herself rarely suffers from this minor indignation and her wholesome features are brought forth in the fullness intended by the engraver. Immaculate, the surfaces are only disturbed by mint-made clash marks. A gorgeous type coin that would be equally at home in the cabinet of the Capped Bust specialist.
