A magnificent untouched cased set of percussion dueling pistols by Swiss gun maker “P. Desponds” Circa: 1830-1840.
Desponds was regarded as the finest gun maker of extremely high quality firearms of his era. His shop was located in Morges, Switzerland.
He did specialize in finely detailed engraving and gold inlays on his long guns and cased dueling pistols, of which this beautiful pair of cased duelers represents. The case is unique in that it has a sliding drawer built in to accommodate the needed accessories that go with these pistols; all of which are original to the case. The photographs are clear evidence of the superior quality of these antique dueling pistols.
One would be hard pressed to invest in a finer set of historical arms.
