Although the Small 5D, at high R.5 (31-45 pieces known) is a bit more "common" than the R.6 Large 5D (Breen-6491, BD-1, 13-30 pieces known), both issues are, in fact, incredibly rare. This variety shares a common obverse with the BD-1. This piece shows a few light hairlines from an old wipe with a jeweler's cloth, and a couple of dark toning spots are likely from improper alloy mixing. There are few singular abrasions, although the luster is somewhat subdued, a bit more so on the obverse than the reverse.
