1830 $2 1/2 --Tooled, Cleaned--ANACS. AU55 Details. Breen-6133, BD-1, R.4. Only one die variety of 1830 Quarter Eagles is known, and it is distinguished by the recut left upright of the I in AMERICA. The field near the profile and beneath the scroll has faint swirling marks, the obverse field is bright from a mild polishing, and the lower reverse field has patches of hairlines. Nevertheless, a sharp example of this challenging Capped Head date. A lintmark from the inner point of the tenth star identifies the present piece.

Coin Engraver: John Reich

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
