<B>1829 $2 1/2 MS62 NGC.</B></I> Breen-6132, BD-1, High R.4. Only 70 to 90 examples of this date survive, according to John Dannreuther, thus examples are not easily located in any grade. Typically, survivors are found in the AU and low Mint State grades, through about MS64. While most were melted by bullion dealers, others were retained by individual collectors and hoarders, thus these coins never actually circulated. This piece is fully lustrous with bright yellow gold surfaces. Parallel adjustment marks cross the shield at the center of the reverse.
