<B>1829 $2 1/2 AU58 PCGS.</B></I> Breen-6132, BD-1, High R.4. Although sometimes lumped together with the quarter eagle type from 1821 to 1827, issues from 1829 to 1834 are a distinct type. In 1829, new technology used to produce the quarter eagle included a close collar that provided for uniform and smaller diameters. Also, the borders are beaded and the head of Liberty has been modified.<BR> This lightly circulated example displays attractive yellow-gold surfaces that show a subtle greenish tint. The design features are nicely defined, including excellent detail in all of the star centers. Both sides are remarkably clean.
