1829 10C Medium 10C MS66 PCGS. JR-12, R.3. This originally preserved Gem is undoubtedly one of the finest extant examples of this scarce die marriage. This later die state exhibits a crack (as produced) from the rim below the 8 in the date, through that digit, and into the field above. Orange and steel-blue peripheral accents interrupt the otherwise even lavender-gray sheen on the obverse. Similar colors are seen on the reverse, but they are largely confined to the borders, where they form a colorful frame to the slate-gray center. This is a fully frosted and sharply impressed example with no distractions to report. PCGS reports only four 1829 Dimes of all die varieties in MS66, and none are finer (9/02). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
