<B>1828 50C Square Base 2, Small 8, Large Letters MS65 PCGS.</B></I> O-122, R.3. This is an amazing Gem example that is probably the finest known of the die marriage. It is the only MS65 example recorded by Stephen Herrman among recently auctioned examples. The next best to appear in recent auctions sales is a coin that grades just MS63. Both sides have fully lustrous and frosty surfaces that are highly visible beneath translucent rose, lilac, and blue color. Incorrectly designated as a Large 8 variety by PCGS.
