This is the only die variety of 1828 half dollars with small letters on the reverse, a <I>Guide Book</B></I> variety of distinction. This wonderful Gem is fully lustrous with satiny surfaces beneath delicate gold and heather toning. Both sides are fully detailed. The present opportunity is extremely important as there have not been any Gem quality examples of this variety offered at auction for several years.
