1828 10C Small Date MS63 NGC. JR-1, R.2. An impressive piece that is boldly struck with lovely peripheral iridescence around a thin veil of champagne toning. In 1828, just two die marriages were produced from a mintage reported as just 125,000 coins. The year is transitional for the denomination. The Large Date variety, cataloged as JR-2, is typically collected as part of the earlier design sub-type issued from 1809 to 1828, and the Small Date, known as JR-1, is usually collected along with all the dates from 1829 to 1837. Census: 7 in 63, 8 finer (10/07).

Coin Engraver: John Reich

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
