1827 N-6 R3 PCGS graded MS65BN.
1827 N-6 R3 PCGS graded MS65BN. PCGS graded MS-65 Brown. Lustrous light bluish steel brown and light chocolate with at least 10% of the slightly faded mint red showing on the obverse and mellowed mint color covering most of the reverse. Great eye appeal. It takes a strong glass to locate anything remotely resembling a defect on this cent. A tiny tick on the back of the ear and a faint, very thin streak of lighter toning up to the right from the left top of the N in ONE are the best identifying marks. Nicely struck EDS. The series of ever-present die cracks through the date and stars is faint. The portrait displays needle-sharp details and only a couple of the stars do not have all their radial lines. The obverse is very slightly misaligned to K-11 while the reverse is properly centered on the planchet. Called MS65 and finest known in the Noyes and Bland census lists, Noyes photo #20707. Our grade is MS65. PCGS Population 1; none finer. Estimated Value $2,000-UP. Ex Ernest Henderson (The Sheraton Collection), 1947 ANA Sale, Abe Kosoff 8/23/47:1628. Our item number 137255 "
