1826 S. North Navy model flintlock pistol in .54 caliber with 8 5/8” barrel dated 1828 with all other features as standard on this model (Refer Flayderman 6B – 026). The pistol shows a good reconversion back to flintlock from percussion.The metal surfaces show some scattered light to moderate pitting with some heavier pitting in the rear area of the lock in front of the muzzle. There has been some chemical coloring when reconverted. The left side of the breech showsgood inspectors initials “A.H.” with “P” proof. The stock is very good with visible cartouche over the belt hook. The belt hook, rammer and swivels are all original. There are a couple of replacement screws. A scarce martial pistol ofwhich approximate 3000 were made and most converted to percussion. The collection of William A. Gary consigned by his estate. Est.: $1500-$3000
