1826 50C MS65 PCGS. O-111, R.2. The 8 in the date is recut within the upper loop, and the 82 is closer than 18 or 26. A die crack joins the end of the bust with all stars on the left. A second crack runs from the drapery through the top of 182, and through the lower curl and stars 12, 11, and 10 before stopping. While this crack is thus earlier than as described in the Overton-Parsley fourth edition, the crack of O-111a "extending edge to edge horizontally across top of cap" is completely visible, yet the reverse lacks the die crack curving below AMERICA to the arrowhead described for O-111a. This sharp and lovely specimen shows dove-gray centers with light sage and amber-gold coloration near the rims.

Coin Engraver: John Reich

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information\)
