1826/5 N-8 R2 Overdate 6 over 5 ANACS graded AU53
1826/5 N-8 R2 Overdate 6 over 5. ANACS graded AU-53. Choice lustrous chocolate and light olive brown with lighter brown tones in protected areas on the reverse. Satiny mint frost covers the fields and protected areas on both sides and this cent offers outstanding eye appeal. The only marks are a couple very tiny ticks at the bust tip, a few barely visible marks over star 4, and a short struck-through line (caused by a piece of wire or thread stuck on the die) hidden in the dentils over the first S in STATES. M-LDS. About half the dentils remain visible on each side and crumbling shows inside the top of the N in ONE. The top of the undertype 5 is clearly visible inside the top of the 6, but it has become dull from die wear. A premium example of this overdate variety. Our grade is EF40+ choice, very close to EF45. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label.
Estimated Value $800-UP.
