1825 N-6 R3 PCGS graded MS64 Brown
Lustrous light to medium brown with darker steel brown toning on the cheek. Peeps of faded mint red are visible on both sides, particularly on the reverse. A very attractive cent. The best identifying marks are a small spot of darker toning in the field near the head between stars 7 & 8, a similar spot in the field close under star 11, and a very thin horizontal nick in the center of the neck. MDS. The obverse is flowlined but uncracked while the reverse has a die crack that meanders from the leaf above the O in ONE through the N's in ONE CENT. Graded MS60 and tied for CC#4 in the Noyes census, his photo #23020. Bland says MS61 and CC#2 in his census. Our grade is MS60+. A beautiful cent that comes with a very nice provenance. The attribution and Naftzger-Ahumada provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
