1825 Erie Canal Completion, British Medal, PR60 Uncertified. BDM VI, 79. 81.3 mm. This large medal is the British counterpart of HK-1, the so-called dollar issued to mark completion and opening of the Erie Canal on October 26, 1825. Produced by Sir Edward Thomason, this medal is similar in design to the dollar-sized version produced in the United States. It is a sharply struck and fully detailed proof with light gray surfaces and reflective fields that are marred only by a smattering of tiny spots on each side.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
