<td width="100%">
1825 English Georgian hand painted watercolor on parchment under glass portrait miniature of a handsome young boy named as Edward Scott, circa 1825. Details hand written in script and also typed to the reverse reveal that it was 'taken during his long illness when dying in Decline - He was born XVI February 1812 and died the IX December 1825 at 19 Bedford Row'. In 1734 the Row was described as 'one of the most noble streets that London has to boast of'.The portrait is in a gold gilt & ebony wood frame. I have look up the address of the boy and the big beautiful Queen Ann mansion is still standing in London. This Mourning portrait was probably commission by the parents of this boy. Knowing he was dying and wanted to remember there beloved son. Image is 5" x 5" 1/2 framed 8" by 8"1/2. Good condition.
