1824, Handcolored Original “Lafayette” Playing Card, Crisp Near Mint.
Playing Card Printed by Jazaniah Ford, Milton, MA, 3.5” x 2.5”. This deck was issued to honor the Marquis de Lafayette on his return to the United States. The same court cards featured on the Decatur Cards are repeated although new plates were obviously used as the subjects are in finer detail. The Ace of Spades has a beautiful Handcolored portrait of Lafayette, who was the French hero of the American Revolution.
