1823 50C MS64 PCGS. O-106a, R.2. PCGS has incorrectly designated this example as a Patched 3 variety, which is O-101a and O-102. Per Overton, "although in this variety the three is a bit rough and irregular, it is not any of the varieties known as the broken, patched or ugly 3." O-106a may lack a catchy nickname, but the present representative is a splendid near-Gem. Autumn-gold and cream-gray blend throughout the lustrous surfaces. Well struck except for a few star centers, and impeccably preserved with only minor contact beneath the left scroll end.

Coin Engraver: John Reich

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
