<B>1823/2 1C XF45 PCGS.</B></I> N-1, Low R.2. Both sides have mostly steel color with lighter olive, especially on the obverse. Traces of luster are evident in the form of slight cartwheels. Both varieties of 1823 are key issues among the 1816 to 1839 large cents, and they are almost always found in much lower grades than this example. Aside from a few insignificant abrasions and faint hairlines, both sides are highly attractive.
