1820 TOKENNorth West Company Token VF20 Holed, Corroded Uncertified.<p>Brass. Breen-1083. 156.0 grains. Struck in 1820 in Birmingham, England by John Walker & Co. for a Canadian group involved in beaver trapping. While this specimen does have some corrosion, that is the norm for these as most were buried in what is now Oregon's Columbia and Umpqua River valleys. Despite the corrosion, the legends and devices are all clear and legible. All specimens are also holed except for two. This piece appears to have an engrailed edge device. This is an opportunity to obtain a high quality example of this desirable, rare, and historic issue.
