<B>1820<25C> Large 0 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> B-3 R.3. The 0 in the date is wide and similar in height to the 2, star 11 is repunched, and there is a prominent center dot on Liberty's neck. As with many B-3s, a die crack extends from the 18 of the date to star 7. Only star 13 and the eagle's claws show noticeable softness of strike. Satiny surfaces are essentially untoned and have escaped all but the tiniest abrasions or paper-thin marks. Only the extraordinary Eliasberg coin that just sold in our 2006 Palm Beach auction, an NGC MS67 B-3 that was misidentified as a Small 0 and realized over $63,000, is appreciably finer than the present example. In fact, we could no other offerings of this die pairing in any Mint State grade.
