1820<10C> Small 0 JR-10, R.3. Reiver state b.--Bent--NCS. VG Details. Full cud at NITE. Attractive light silver on the devices with darker gray fields. A very late die state that shows the obverse swelling on the last star and a full cud at the tops of NITE. No surface evidence of any bend in the planchet, which may be a result of the cud. This is the latest die state known, and a similar coin was sold in the 2002 Russell J. Logan sale. This is one of only two dime dies which are known to develop retained or full cuds between the years of 1809 and 1828 (the other the 1825 JR-4 obverse). Virtually all the other dime dies failed by developing die cracks or sinking.
Ex: Harry Foreman (October 1989). Envelope Included.
