At a meeting of freeholders and other inhabitants of Dorchester qualified to vote, at which Benjamin Parsons was moderator, an article was offered “<I>To take into consideration the increased state of the poor, and to determine what measures to take towards their support, by building an addition to their house, or at the school pasture, or otherwise…</B></I>”.
