1819/8 50C Large 9 MS65 PCGS. O-104, R.1. Star 2 is drastically recut, star 4 less dramatically so. All of the upper serifs are missing on the E's. The Large 9 obverse has a broad 9, and the tail of the 9 is much closer to the upper loop than on the Small 9 variant. The right sides of T-I are in line. PCGS has misattributed this piece as a Small 9, but at any rate both varieties are considered R.1. A thin ring of pinkish-gold encircles the rims on each side of this beautiful Gem, while the centers are a light powder-gray. Brilliant, only slightly muted cartwheel luster proceeds from the surfaces, and the strike is fairly sharp.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
