<B>1817 50C MS63 NGC.</B></I> O-107, R.3. An early die state of this variety with the C in the denomination sharply doubled below, and no evidence of any reverse die cracks are noted. Overton (or Parsley) could have provided an additional O-107a listing for the plentiful late die state pieces, and it appears that this early state is much scarcer. This select Mint State piece easily qualifies as a Census level example, one of only three or four Mint State specimens known. Among certified examples that have been offered in recent years, only the Eliasberg specimen has received a higher grade. A well centered impression, the central details on each side are slightly soft.
