1815/2 50C VF20 PCGS. O-101, R.2. An accurately assigned grade by PCGS. Despite strike weakness along the right obverse periphery and the denomination on the reverse, this piece displays overall wear commensurate with a VF20 Capped Bust half dollar. Attractive gunmetal-gray surfaces are gently framed by occasional blushes of electric-blue at russet toning at the rims. An eye-appealing, original example of this popular early half. Previously part of a Coin Galleries auction, July 18, 1990, lot 2542 (envelope included).
From The John Stimson, Sr. Collection, Part One.

Coin Engraver: John Reich

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
