<B>1814 50C MS65 NGC.</B></I> O-103, R.1. Most easily identified by the heavy die line extending upward from the eagle's left (facing) wing to between the E P on the scroll. Numerous clashmarks visible on both sides, as struck, are the usual state for the die variety. A sepia tone covers this obviously original half dollar, whose luster remains full and pleasing. A trace of strike weakness is visible on the eagle's right (facing) talons and upper stars; however, actual post-striking contact appears to be unusually sparse even for the Gem grade.
