1813 50C MS63 PCGS. O-110, R.1. In Auction & Mai
1813 50C MS63 PCGS. O-110, R.1. In Auction & Mail Bid Prices Realized for Bust Half Dollars, Stephen Herrman listed three MS64 examples, and two other MS63 examples appearing in recent auctions. This example is the same MS63 offered in the two other auctions listed by Herrman, including an appearance in the January 2004 ANR sale where it was misattributed as O-101. We believe that this coin is probably third or fourth finest known of the O-110 variety.
The surfaces are brightly lustrous with wisps of pale gold toning. A couple splashes of darker toning are seen on both sides. It is a late die state with prominent clash marks visible on the obverse. Nearly all examples of this variety have clash marks between the date and bust, and left and right of the lower portion of the bust. On this coin, three distinct sets of clash marks are visible.
