1813<50C> MS62 NGC. O-103, R.2. This variety shares an obverse with the later-die-state O-104, attributed by recutting on star 11, a curl that pierces the bottom of the R in LIBERTY, and a 3 in the date that is filled at the top. The reverse shows a small dot at the top of the eagle's left (facing) wing. Bold die clashing can be seen on both sides of this pretty piece, with remnants of the eagle and scroll visible behind and below Liberty, and the bust truncation discernible under the scroll. Beautiful luster complements the medium silver-gray surfaces, accented by copper-gold near the rims. A light reverse die crack joins the leftmost olive leaves and the left wingtip with UNI. The latest edition of the Parsley (previously Overton) Bust half reference lists one MS65, three MS63s, and an MS62 in the Condition Census for this variety.
