1813 50C 50C Over UNI MS61 PCGS. O-101, High R.3. Last sold as lot 6569 in our 2001 Central States Sale, where it was described as, "Overton's Condition Census for this variety reads: 65, 65, 65, 65, 63. While not quite as fine as those coins from a technical standpoint, the present example is still an important Mint State representative of this ever-popular Guide Book variety. We have not handled a BU quality representative of O-101 in four years. The present example is originally toned in lavender-gray patina that lightens over the obverse. There are also traces of golden-orange color at the borders, and clashmarks (as struck) are seen in the fields. The reverse is rotated nearly 90 degrees clockwise in relation to the obverse." Population: 2 in 61, 6 finer (10/02). The coin brought $2,530 in that sale more than a year and a half ago. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
