1813 $5 MS63 PCGS. Breen-6467, BD-1, R.2. Frosty green-gold luster really brings out the sharp design details of this Select Mint State half eagle. The first year of the modified design issued until 1834, the Capped Head design is similar to the previous Capped Bust design, but lacks the draped bosom of the earlier issue. John Reich engraved both designs during his ten-year tenure at the U.S. Mint. Aside from minor clash marks visible within the letters of LIBERTY and in the spaces between the vertical shield stripes on the reverse, both dies are perfect without die cracks or lapping.

Coin Engraver: John Reich

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information\)
