One page, partially printed, 7.5” x 12.5”, Springfield, April 6, 1812, signed by nine Selectmen of Springfield and sent to Benjamin Homans, Secretary of the Commonwealth, Boson, toned, with remnants of wax seal, with fold creases, else very good. This document certified that Elbridge Gerry received 250 votes, beating out his opponent Caleb Strong who only received 233 votes. Strong ultimately won but Gerry became the 5th Vice President of the United States, serving under James Madison. <I>Ex. Henry E.
