1812-Dated War of 1812 French Military Flintlock Pistol
1812-Dated War of 1812 Era, French Military Model Year “AN XIII” Flintlock Service Pistol, French Arsenal at Saint Etienne, Fine.
This is an original Napoleonic War, and American War of 1812, authentic French Military Model Year “An XIII” (1804) Flintlock Service Pistol. It has an 8", .69 cal. barrel, dated “1812”, with an Overall Size of about 14.5”. This gun remains in its original flintlock configuration, original ram rod, brass regulation furniture. Lock is marked “Manif Imp de St. Etienne” (French Arsenal at Saint Etienne). The stock is marked on the right side of grip “P. B. 1812” and has an unidentified stamp vertically just behind the rear side nail (screw). It has a horizontal stress crack in front of the lock plate, otherwise it is very solid with light scratches and dings from years of actual service. All Iron parts have a natural dark rust age patina. All Brass parts have a deep yellow-olive age patina. Overall, in good working mechanical order making it very collectable.
